Downtown Lethbridge Business Revitilization Zone:
What is your position on Revitalization of downtown Lethbridge?

Answer

My personal big hang up with going to the downtown area is parking...Park meters are overrated and are in my view a big cause for the city core depletion. It doesn't cost nothing to park at Walmart...

Do you support expanding the City's waste management plan to include curbside recycling? Please choose
Agree
Disagree
It's complicated

Answer

Agree

Comment

I would support a blue bin recycling system, as I dislike the new system in place. Those new sites are not user friendly, especially when a truck picks up a bin... which is most of the time. Curb side pick up and special sites like nursing homes and appartment buildings, commerces.

Greensence/SAGE/KLEW:

Full Ban
Non binding resolution
No position
Support fracking

Answer

Full Ban

Comment

I support fully the gas and oil industry, but do not wish them to invade our living space. Fracking has to be kept away from civilization and transport of their product also has to take their own route. New and safer rails for transport instead of pipelines. Zero tolerance on safety shortage

For some services or special contracts. It becomes necessary to sub-contract. Any regular maintenance should be handled by our own public services.

Strongly disagree

You get what you pay for... simple rule of thumb. Local means everything, especially for Lethbridge. It would be worth paying a little more in order to implant some engineering and manufacturing companies.

Lethbridge & District Labour Council:
Closure of Federal Government service offices and reductions in Provincial funding to post-secondary education have implications to the community of Lethbridge in terms of service loss and job loss. What is your position on these closures and reductions and, as a municipal leader, what should the City’s role be when the decisions of other levels of government affect citizens of Lethbridge?

Answer

We have to organize our projects and operation in a new and up to date fashion, our old ways need to go and that our cue. With our new technologies and new approach, anything is possible. When old and stiff people take control or have power of say in those things we loose any common sense.... learning is so hard for old people and sometimes we have to force it in...but it can all be done and then some

Lethbridge & District Labour Council:
Most of our public services and facilities have a user fee but the City subsidizes the cost of the facility or service. What is your position on the subsidization of public services and facilities? Please choose from:
Users should not pay at all so that everyone can access the service.
Small user fees should be charged but I would consider waiving them for low income people, students, and seniors.
A user fee should be charged to all users.
The City should not be subsidizing someone’s hobbies or recreation.

Answer

Users should not pay at all so that everyone can access the service.

Comment

It is unclear what type of services the question is related to, but facilities like the Galt museum should only charge on special events, keep their goals educational and free.

Strongly disagree.
Somewhat disagree
Neither agree nor disagree

expanded means what it means....more money, no reasurance of anything better, and I don't think a living wage policy represents the incomes in Alberta.
